Edgecase receives $7.5 million led by Austin Ventures

Edgecase, an Austin, Texas-based provider of data and analytics used to power e-commerce websites, has secured $7.5 million from investors led by venture capital firm Austin Ventures. Edgecase plans to use the latest round of capital for research and development and sales and marketing. The company, founded in 2012 and formerly known as Compare Metrics, has raised $15.5 million to date. Edgecase claims its software, that helps consumers find what they are searching for online, is ten times faster and at half of the cost it would take a retailer to scale and manage its data on its own.
