Independent investment firm Equistone Partners, now owns SportsGroup

Sports surfaces system provider SportsGroup has been sold by European private equity house, IK Investments Partners to Equistone Partners. This brings an end to a nine-year period for the firm, which acquired SportsGroup in May 2006 via its IK 2000 Fund, a $2.1 billion vehicle. During the time SportsGroup was owned by IK, the company completed add-on acquisitions in Sweden, France, USA and Australasia. SportsGroup is a leader for synthetic sport and recreational surface systems. Last year, IK announced the exit of digital marketing and e-commerce solutions provider EPiServer, after four years.
