Nokia buys Seattle software company Unium

Nokia Corp., a provider of network infrastructure and related services, has acquired Seattle-based Unium, Inc., PE Hub reported. Financial terms of the transaction were not announced. Unium develops and delivers mesh networking software for the Department of Defense to improve wireless infrastructure. Its technology helps improve slow or dead Wi-Fi spots in home by creating a secure mesh network and recommending optimal locations for devices. The company’s technology works across various wireless chipsets, processors, and operating systems; and is sold via license or as an all-in-one product. Unium was a portfolio company of SwiftSure Capital. The planned transaction is expected to close in Q1 2018, subject to customary closing conditions.
