Personal Genome Diagnostics lands $21.4 mln Series A investment

Baltimore-based, Personal Genome Diagnostics Inc (PGDx), a company that analyzes cancer patients' genes to improve treatment and diagnosis, has received $21.4 million Series A capital led by New Enterprise Associates. Other participants included investors Windham Venture Partners and Nanjing Kaiyuan Growth Capital Investments. In addition to the funding, Dr. Justin Klein, a general partner at New Enterprise Associates was added to PGDx's board of directors while Felix Dawson and Adam Fine of Windham will become board observers. The company, founded in 2010, plans to use the money to sell more of its technology to sequence and analyze genes in biopsy sample.
