North America’s leading provider of cloud-based waste and recycling solutions, Rubicon Global has raised $50 million from key investors bringing its valuation to $500 million. The round was led by venture capital firm, Nima Capital, which invests in new and disruptive technologies. Founded and led by Suna Said, Nima Capital’s recent investments include select companies such as Palantir, Instacart and Oscar. Additional investors in the round include Goldman Sachs, Wellington Management Company, co-founder of KKR, Henry Kravis, founder of Tudor Investment Corporation, Paul Tudor Jones II, and actor, Leonardo DiCaprio. Rubicon’s rapid growth in its business is driven by its innovative, cloud-based business model. Called the Uber for trash, Rubicon is part of the ongoing shift to restack antiquated industries. The new funding will be used to scale technology and expand its on-demand and mid-market services.
