UK-based cyber defense software firm Darktrace gets $22.5 million investment from Summit Partners

Boston-based growth equity investment house, Summit Partners has invested $22.5 million in UK-based cyber defense software company Darktrace. The investment was a Series B funding round for the company that functions with technology developed at Cambridge University to support businesses and governments to protect themselves against internet-based attacks and data compromises from their network. Darktrace will use the funds to meet a globally increasing demand for its product, especially in the United States and Asia Pacific. It will also scale the business as well as hire additional people. Founded in 1984, Summit Partners has raised more than $16bn over the past 31 years, investing in more than 400 companies in the technology, healthcare and other growth sectors.
